About Me
Sara Smedley
I am an artist who until recently dabbled in textile design. For quite a while I designed and printed linen aprons and tea towels with graphic designs. One of those even ended up in the Smithsonian's gift shop and catalog! My tag line was "art you can wipe your hands on." Now I make graphic hand-cut collages with images pulled out of vintage magazines and books. My materials may have changed (please don't wipe your hands on my art any more) but I am still inspired by the same design sources. Oh, I also have a B.F.A. in Painting from Pratt Institute, so I do have a license to make art for arts sake. All original images © Sara Smedley 2018
